Daniel King Quartet Live at Record Archive

Friday, October 9, 2026 | Rochester, NY

The Daniel King Quartet returns for a special performance at one of Rochester’s most iconic music destinations, Record Archive, on Friday, October 9.

Led by Spanish guitarist Daniel King, the quartet brings together the distinctive sound of Spanish and flamenco guitar with flute and percussion, creating an energetic blend of Latin music, jazz influences, world music, and contemporary sounds.

Long before King's more recent musical explorations, the quartet established a sound built around the Spanish guitar itself—melodic, rhythmic, expressive, and equally comfortable taking center stage or interacting with a full rhythm section. The group's repertoire moves between Latin favorites, reimagined classics, instrumental arrangements, and original Daniel King compositions, giving each musician room to contribute while keeping the guitar at the heart of the music.

Expect an evening that can shift from intimate Spanish-guitar passages and expressive melodies to driving Latin rhythms, improvisation, and the energy of the complete quartet.

For this performance, King is revisiting the quartet format that has been an important part of his music in Rochester—bringing the musicians together again for a night that celebrates the sound and repertoire that defined the group.
